  • Instructs pupils in art, such as painting, sketching, designing, and sculpturing; Math, Social Studies and Science; prepares lesson plans and establishes course goals.
  • Selects books and supplies for courses. Demonstrates method and procedure to pupils.
  • Observes and evaluates pupils’ work to determine student progress or to make suggestions for improvement.
  • Confers with student, parent, and counselor to resolve student problem.
  • Accompanies students on field trips.
  • May direct planning and supervision of student contests and arranging of art exhibits.
  • May teach students with disabilities.
  • May be designated according to subject taught as instructor, illustration.

Description

Program Description/ Development

The program helps young men and young women become equipped to meet the challenges, demands, and opportunities of the future. They develop strong cognitive and critical thinking skills that can be applied to problems that are mathematical, scientific, artistic, social, moral, ethical, or personal.

These skills, are learned in an atmosphere that is intellectually stimulating and emotionally nurturing, allowing young men and young women to gain confidence, discipline, courage and enable them to grow into resilient, responsible, and productive leaders of their communities.

The program provides immediate and integral links to their community and outside of their community where leaders and local business members serve as mentors to young people.
