Would you like to help someone find a job? If you have a background in Human Resources and/or management and/or have experience conducting a job search, we have a great volunteer opportunity for you!
The ARCADE Library seeks experienced applicants who will assist patrons with a variety of activities specific to conducting a job search. These include writing a esume and cover letter; interview preparation, setting up an email account, and conducting job searches using online resources. The Job Coach will introduce job seekers to the Sacramento Public Library online resources available including Jobs & Career, computer skills, and Adult Literacy.
The volunteer Job Coach will receive an orientation and training on the library's jobs and career online resources.
Arcade offers the Job Coach program on WEDNESDAYS from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Job seekers can drop in or schedule an appointment ahead of time.
Qualified applicants should have experience with conducting a job search, knowledge of resume writing and interview preparation.
We provide this service to a diverse community - ability to speak Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Arabic or Spanish is an advantage but not a requirement.
