The Muscular Dystrophy Association is in need of camp counselors, ages 16 and up, to serve at its annual summer camp at Happiness is Camping in Hardwick, NJ, just across the PA border off USA Route 80. This camp serves children with neuromuscular diseases from throughout the Central PA region. The camp is overnight, and will be held June 10-16, 2017, with thorough training and orientation provided before camper arrival. Each year, MDA provides a free week of summer camp to young peoples ages 6-17 with muscle diseases. Counselors work one-one-one with campers to help ensure a fun, safe camp week. No special training or experience is required. Many MDA counselors find summer camp a truly life-changing experience, with some returning to serve at camp year after year. Prospective counselors can contact Ed Granger at the email address provided to obtain an application.
