Many youth served by YouthCare have very few belongings, typically only the clothing on their backs. They are working hard to fit in to go to school, attend a job interview, show up at work, and YouthCare works hard to have organized resources for them to be able to so respectfully (e.g. shampoo, hair supplies, clothing, shoes, food, housewares, etc.).
You can be a part of making a difference for homeless youth by being a Basement Boutique & Hygiend Hallway Stward. You will have the opportunity to organize donated items, sort them into their appropriate area, and in turn, provide much needed items to youth. YouthCare builds confidence and self-sufficiency for homeless youth by providing a continuum of care that includes outreach, basic services, emergency shelter, housing, counseling, education, and employment training.
Description
Founded in 1974, YouthCare was the first shelter for homeless youth in the Western United States and continues to be a leader in providing services to this vulnerable population. Beginning as a three-bed shelter for runaways, YouthCare has grown and expanded to become a community-based agency with six sites serving the greater Seattle area.
Today, YouthCare’s services range from street outreach and residential housing to education and employment training.
