Thank you very much for your interest in volunteering with Animal Allies. We are an all-volunteer organization and are thrilled that you want to help! We currently have the following specific opportunities we need to fill. However, if you are available at a different time, we can certainly have something for you to do. Kitties can’t get too much loving!
Zoe Muffin House, our kitty halfway house - Kitties live here until adopted or furever. We are a no kill rescue. The kitties are free range. The house is painted in happy colors and we’ve built fun catios for them to enjoy being outside safely. At least four people go to Zoe Muffin House each day to care for the kitties. There is always something to do.
We currently need help on several days:
(1) Saturday morning/afternoon - any time between 6am-2pm
Usually takes 2-3 hours depending how much time you play with the kitties. Besides playing with kitties, duties include two of the following: feeding wet food and medicating cats. Zoe Muffin House is located approximately 2.5 miles Southwest from Petsmart on Davis Hwy in Pensacola, FL. You can do this alone or with a friend. Well-behaved children 7 years of age or older are welcome to come with parents. 14 years of age and older are welcome with or without parents, but parents must be nearby in case of cat emergency and need to leave the premises. Any volunteer with a driver’s license and the ability to leave at any time is welcome at any age. The time spent does count towards community service hours. Training is provided and support is always available.
(2) Saturday evening - any time between 5pm-2am
Usually takes 1-2 hours to complete chores, of course we encourage you to spend time playing with the kitties. Duties include scooping litterboxes; picking up wet food dishes, loading the dishwasher, and putting dry food down. If desired, we can train you on medications. Great experience if a pre-vet or vet tech student. Zoe Muffin House is located approximately 2.5 miles Southwest from Petsmart on Davis Hwy in Pensacola, FL. You can do this alone or with a friend. (3) Kitties at AJH house - any time of day or evening
We do have some kitties at another house that need to be cared for. One person once a day goes to care for them. It takes no more than an hour, more if you want to play with the kitties. This house is located off W Street and Fairfield. Duties include: scooping litterboxes, feeding dry food, changing water. You can do this alone or with a friend. Must be 18 or older or a parent/child team could do. The time spent does count towards community service hours. Training is provided and support is always available.
We also need help with special events, photos/videography, calling adopters or potential volunteers, amongst other things. But right now our greatest need it to work with the kitties. If any of these opportunities interest you, please let us know when you would like to start and where.
