Greet gift shop customers and run sales through POS system. Ensure gift shop is clean and merchandise is stocked. Assist staff with receiving new shipments, packing and shippingproducts sold online, and loss prevention.

Basic Requirements: Must be proficient in English, multi-lingual a plus; clean and appropriate business attire; excellent cash handling skills; ability to make accurate cash transactions; ability to effectively communicate information about the museum with the general public; good computer skills and attention to detail; previous experience with retail a plus.

Time Commitment: Volunteer opportunities typically last 3-6 months depending on thevolunteer’s schedule. A minimum of 8 hours a week is required.

The International Art Museum of America, located in the up and coming Central Market Cultural District, offers many meaningful opportunities to volunteer in our exciting museum. We are looking for mature and enthusiastic volunteers who are seeking:

* Respectful and thoughtful communication with fellow volunteers, staff, and clients

* An opportunity to use strong listening skills and demonstrate an ability to follow multiple directions and work independently

* To become a contributing member of a team led by our dedicated staff in support of museum operations and programs.
