Work with our staff to welcome and monitor guests in the galleries; provide directions and basic information about the history and artwork of the museum. Ensure excellent customer service to all visitors in any interaction. Other duties may include assisting with special events in the museum, as well as promoting IAMA during festivals and public events.
Basic Requirements: Must be proficient in English, ideally be multi-lingual; clean and appropriate business attire; ability to effectively and enthusiastically communicate information with the general public; ability to stay calm and follow directions in emergency situations; represent the museum, its activities and programs in a positive, proactive manner; must be punctual, dependable, and flexible; honest and reliable.
Time Commitment: Volunteer opportunities typically last 3-6 months depending on the volunteer’s schedule. A minimum of 8 hours a week is required.

The International Art Museum of America, located in the up and coming Central Market Cultural District, offers many meaningful opportunities to volunteer in our exciting museum. We are looking for mature and enthusiastic volunteers who are seeking:
* Respectful and thoughtful communication with fellow volunteers, staff, and clients
* An opportunity to use strong listening skills and demonstrate an ability to follow multiple directions and work independently
* To become a contributing member of a team led by our dedicated staff in support of museum operations and programs.
