The IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program provides free tax return preparation for low and moderate income households meeting specific guidelines.

VITA Tax Return volunteers assist clients in the preparation and submission of federal and state tax returns.

1 Shift

  • 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM
    During Tax Season January to April. Open multiply days per week. Limited by number of computers available.

NWCSA is a non-profit corporation operating in a 5 county area of Northwestern Wisconsin. The goal of NWCSA is to promote self-sufficiency of the low income.

Our office in Ashland, WI offers Homeless services, Permanent Supportive Housing, Domestic Violence Rapid Rehousing, Free Tax Return Preparation, RSVP (a volunteer program for those 55+), and coordinated entry.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • Open for 14 weeks from January to April yearly. Training, self guided, begins in November. Minimum commitment is one day per week during the tax season.
  • Working as a team. Being able to utilize web-based program to data enter in tax information. Training provided. Work with an experience preparer until ready to solo.
