Community service hours provide a personal touch to families in need, and allow our patients to get the best care possible.Kaiser Hospice/Home Care of Orange County serves both patients in the home setting and provides support services at their Tustin office location.
Hospice Volunteers provide specific services of either a supportive patient/family care nature, or clerical duties are available.
Thereby supporting Kaiser Home Care and Hospice Program's daily operations and future growth. Each volunteer is an integral part of the Hospice Interdisciplinary Group (IDG)What can a volunteer do? Volunteer Administrative, Clerical and Computer support is needed. Volunteers under 18 can assist on weekend duties. Those age 21 and older may be allowed to offer weekly visits to our home bound patients, providing respite for the family members of Hospice and Palliative Care patients.
(12 hours of inservice training needed for this aspect.) Under 21, we have a variety of office administrative, and support services.Application and Training: All Volunteers must apply, complete background check, health screening, and receive 10 hours of Training before beginning service. (Level of Training is dependent on type of volunteer involvement.)
Pet Therapy, Music Therapy, creation of crafts are included as volunteer service projects. Home visitation may include: doing errands for families, providing respite for caregivers, reading to patients, offering listening skills. Each of these are included in services offered to our hospice families.

- 3-4 hours per week or 100 hours per year
- Under 21 is office only. 75 hours required for high school.
