The Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity ReStore is looking for volunteers to help receive, display, and sell new and used home building and remodeling products.
Gain retail, customer service, and warehouse experience while volunteering in a relaxed and friendly environment. Volunteering at the GDM Habitat ReStore is a fun and rewarding way to fulfill class or community service requirements or just to get out and meet new people. Volunteers 14-15 years old can volunteer with adult supervision.
Volunteers with the ability to lift at least 25 lbs. is preferred, but we can find ways for anyone to help. Contact Tyler Perry, Volunteer Coordinator for the ReStore, at tperry@gdmhabitat.org or call (515) 471-8686 ext: 130.

Description
Greater Des Moines Habitat For Humanity is a locally operated affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical, Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold with no interest to those in need for the cost of the land and non donated materials at no profit.
Volunteers are the heart and soul of Habitat for Humanity. We welcome people from all walks of life to join us as we work to build affordable homes and hope in partnership with God and families in need.
There are many ways to become involved in Habitat's work. Volunteers can help in one or more of the following areas:

ReStore
Office and Administrative
Committees
Facility Maintenance
Family Services
History: Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity has been serving the Greater Des Moines community since 1986. To date, the organization has helped move more than 150 adults and 350 children into the safety and stability of homeownership.
