Night Ministry Care Line Counselors (CLCs) offer compassionate, non-judgmental support to callers struggling with loneliness, depression, anxiety, worry, grief and other concerns. We offer spiritual care that is open and affirming. Our CLCs come from many faith traditions and spiritual backgrounds. We help people make meaning for themselves in line with their own understanding of reality.
During hours when most social service organizations are closed, our night-time Care Line receives 18-20 calls per night, each of which can last anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes. Many of our callers face mental and physical health concerns, financial worries and social isolation, and they turn to us for counseling, conversation and referral services. We have three shifts available, from 8pm to 12am; from 10pm to 2am, and from 12am - 4 am (all Pacific time).
CLCs volunteer from home. They can be located anywhere in the world. Though we are San Francisco based, we have CLCs from as far away as Hawaii and Ireland. Our CLCs form a community of supportive caregivers, even as we care for others. Join us!
