Become a Big! Big Brothers Big Sisters is a one-to-one mentoring program for children 7-14. Each volunteer, or 'Big', is matched with a child, or 'Little' based on gender identity, interest and location.
Community Based Mentoring:
Bigs and Littles spend quality time on fun, appropriate and parent approved outings like sharing local culture, exploring new educational opportunities, or developing new skills and hobbies. Outings are on your schedule, 2-4 times a month for a minimum of one year. Big Brothers Big Sisters offers full support of this match through the training and an assigned Match Support Specialist who will check in with you on a monthly basis.
Site Based Mentoring:
Facilitated programs occur in a group setting on a specific day and time. Each program includes time for relationship building, a structured activity and free time. Mentors and mentees do not have in-person contact outside of the program. Every program is unique and hosted at a site near you.
We are looking for men and women in any of these counties: Cook (IL), Lake (IL), DuPage (IL), and Lake (IN)
Volunteers must be willing to commit to being matched with a Little at least one year and meet with their Little two to four times per month.
Become a Big and change TWO lives!
