Mission Statement
The Mission of Child Advocates of Fort Bend is to provide a voice for abused and neglected children. Our work is based upon the belief that every child has the right to a safe and permanent home.
Description
Every day, thousands of children in the United States are abused, neglected or abandoned. Every day four children will die as a result of this abuse and half a million children are currently living in foster care. Many come from a place you can not imagine. Their lives are flipped upside down, their spirits shattered, their eyes dulled by an overhelming sense of grief and loss. Some children turn hard and cynical. Others grow virtually silent. Many of these children live right here in Fort Bend County. Child Advocates of Fort Bend reaches out to these small victims who need big voices. We recognize that the life of an abused child can resemble the broken pieces of a difficult puzzle. Our volunteers work hard to reconnect the pieces by providing a constant voice for children who want nothing more than what they deserve - a safe, permanent and loving home. Many volunteers work directly with children - others provide needed support - a generous community provides funding to strengthen this growing voice on behalf of our children in crisis.
