For all counties in NCCharlotte, NC 28207

This is an opportunity for all counties in NC. Every day cancer patients need a ride to treatment, but some may not have a way to get there. The American Cancer Society Road to Recovery program provides transportation to and from treatment for people who have cancer and do not have a ride or are unable to drive themselves. Volunteer drivers donate their time and the use of their cars so that patients can receive the life-saving treatments they need. Volunteer drivers donate their time and resources to take patients to treatment and back home again. Drivers are needed during the day Monday - Friday.

Meet Carolyn, a Cancer Patient

"I had a stem cell transplant and had to go to the clinic on a daily basis for months. I had family and friends take me as much as possible but I also depended on Road to Recovery drivers. They were like guardian angels. They filled in the gaps and made things easier in an already tough situation."

Meet Mary, a Driver

"The satisfaction of providing a needed service is the main reason I decided to be a volunteer driver, but there are other reasons. No special skills or extensive training is required. I am inspired by the grace and fortitude with which many of the people I meet are dealing with the challenges of cancer."
