About

The Weiss Advocacy Center is a powerful voice for child victims of abuse and neglect in Genesee County. Our state of the art facility provides a single interview and exam to a child who may have experienced severe physical or sexual abuse. Our family hosts are the calming presence for children and their families when undergoing an interview. They accompany and engage the family during waiting periods, entertain children, answer basic questions and provide reassurance. A 1-2 hour training is provided. Participation is flexible however, at least one day per month is requested. A thorough background check and adherence to center rules, regulations, confidentiality and standards are required
