Job Title:
SCI Feeding Program Assistant

Purpose of
Assignment:
- To assist nursing staff with feeding Veterans with limited upper body movement
- To aid in the delivery of timely service to our Veterans with meal service
Using Service:
SCI Nursing Administration
Department & Location:
SCI Department Downtown Division

Time Requirements:
Breakfast 0700-0800
Lunch 1200-1300
Dinner 1700-1600
Specific Duties:
Please continue on separate sheet if additional space is needed.
Set up assistive devices to aid patients who require moderate assistance
Communicate with nursing staff the proportion of meal that is consumed by veteran
Wear appropriate PPE when entering a patient’s room in a contact isolation room
Ensure that patient’s body alignment is conducive for meal consumption
Knowledge of how to activate call light system for assistance
Provide Assistance with Laundry requirements
Escort patients
Qualifications & Training Required:
Annual Volunteer Training (to include Hand Hygiene)
