Make A Difference, Become An Errand Volunteer!
Formed in 1955, Beach Cities Health District is a public agency that provides health care services to the communities of Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach.
Errand Volunteers help older and/or disabled clients live at home longer by offering them assistance in completing routine errands. Tasks can vary and may be grocery shopping, running to the pet store, or the post office to give a few examples. This opportunity has an added social component for clients since volunteers serve as escorts during errands.
Errand volunteers would drive clients on errands for a minimum of 1 1/2 hours each week. Weekday availability between 9am - 3pm is needed. Applicants will be required to attend a BCHD orientation and training. Must be compassionate and commit to at least 1 year. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
