ORGANIZATION: Women of Stamina

We are seeking five different types of volunteers.

Regular Volunteers (Monday-Friday) - We need individuals who can serve as regular volunteers to work in our office on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Duties include answering the telephone, greeting visitors, preparation of packets and/or mailings, some general clerical duties, assistance with fundraising projects and assistance as needed with Clothing Boutique. Minimum age is 18 years old with access to reliable transportation.

Special Projects/Events Volunteers - We also are seeking volunteers who would be available to work special projects or events. These volunteers would be contacted on an as needed basis to help with these events/projects throughout the year. Minimum age is 15 years old with access to transportation to work the event(s).

Board Members - We need volunteers for the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is responsible for overall governance of the organization. The Board of Directors meets quarterly (4 times per year).

Learning New Life Skills (Life Essential) - We need volunteer instructors for this training. This program The classes consist of Financial Management, Job Search and Preparation. Mon-Thurs daytime and evening hours.

Bookeeper/Accountant - We need volunteers to assist with non-profit bookkeeping and accounting.

Mission Statement

Women of Stamina Ministries International, Inc. (WOS) provide faith-based teaching/training to women to build their self confidence through job preparedness, financial independence, education and basic life skills in order for them to become effective contributing members of society.

Description

Women of Stamina Ministries International, Inc. (Women of Stamina) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that was established in 2008 to partner with and provide spiritually based assistance to all women at the point of their need. The assistance provided varies depending on the individual but it can be spiritual, emotional, educational and/or physical in nature with the goal of empowering women to fulfill their life's purpose. The participants are enrolled in the Metamorphosis Experience Program which is a spiritually based program that focuses on three phases (1) Identification (2) Preparation and (3) Application.

These programs include new life skills training in job search/preparation, computer skills training, financial management (basic checking, savings, credit and home ownership., etc), job interviews and dressing for success.

Services also include a Computer Services Center (CSC) and a Clothing Boutique. The CSC offers women free use of equipment including Computer (internet/email), Printer and/or Copier for assistance with job search/preparation and/or family resource needs (housing, transportation, education, financial, etc.). The Clothing Boutique provides free new and/or gently used clothing for women and their families.
