Outreach Counselors for StandUp For Kids - DC will work under the direction of the Director of Outreach to provide various outreach services to homeless, runaway and at-risk youth. Outreach Counselors will be the face of our organization to youth that we serve. Counselors will go to the streets to assist homeless and street kids by distributing food, clothing, hygiene products and information to help the kids that believe no one cares that we do!

- <p>Ideal candidates should be confident and enthusiastic, a team players, and able to work effectively with leadership, fellow volunteers and various youth. Candidates should be outgoing and willing to approach strangers in sometimes strange locations and should also be able to commit to at least 2 hours per week for at least 3-6 months to maintain continuity for the youth. In addition, candidates should possess the following: </p><ul><li>Strong sense of personal integrity</li><li>Sincere desire to help homeless and street kids</li></ul><p>Candidates must also complete general volunteer orientation, two mandatory outreach training sessions prior and pass a background investigation prior to being cleared to working with our youth.</p>
