Long Term Care Ombudsman Volunteers are senior advocates who work with residents of nursing homes or assisted living facilities. We ask our volunteers to visit their assigned home(s) once per month to meet with residents, educate them as to their rights, and provide advocacy assistance, if needed. Volunteers must be over the age of 18 and able to pass a background check. Training is offered quarterly at the OLTCO's office in Anchorage. Volunteers are needed statewide (volunteers outside of the Anchorage/Matsu area will attend via Skype). Go to our website (akoltco.org/volunteer) to learn more and to complete an application, or call Kathryn Curry, Volunteer Coordinator at 907/334.2535. We would love to have you join our team of deducated volunteers!
