We are seeking caring adults in Cumberland and York Counties to be friends, positive role models and mentors to children facing adversity, ages 7-17.
We have opportunities for both school-based and community-based 'Bigs'. The time commitment is 1 hour a week for school-based and 3-5 hours every other week for a year for community-based. Commitments are renewable.
Any child who lacks sufficient adult support is eligible. Most commonly, "Little's" are being raised in economically disadvantaged homes or single parent homes. We are a prevention, not a treatment, program.
All volunteers provide references, pass a background check, and go through an interview and training process. Every match has the support of a BBBS professional staff.
