Looking for honest, reliable, friendly, outgoing and people oriented volunteers to staff our Garden Shop. We carry unique items specific to River Farm such as pottery with our own plant material impressed and glazed into it, bowls, bottle stoppers, vases and more made from downed River Farm trees, artwork from local artists and much, much more. We are looking to expand our Garden Shop hours and with your help, we would be able to offer our visitors more of an opportunity browse and shop. If you enjoy working with people, designing merchandise displays and making a difference, then please get in touch.

Description
Founded in 1922, the American Horticultural Society (AHS) is one of the oldest member-based national gardening organizations in North America. Our headquarters at River Farm in Alexandria, Virginia, is a national showcase for environmentally responsible gardening practices.
We have more than 20,000 members, including home gardeners, garden club members, professional horticulturists, educators, and Master Gardeners. We advocate earth-friendly gardening practices, promote plant-based education for children, recognize leaders in American gardening, and showcase the art and science of horticulture. We also produce a bi-monthly magainze, The American Gardener.
In addition to our full-time staff, we rely on dedicated volunteers who give their time and talents to the organization.
