Come join our group of dedicated volunteers Wednesdays and Thursdays (9:30 a.m. - noonish) and Saturday mornings ( 9-1 April thru late September) in the gardens. Meet new people, make new friends and help make a difference. Help with planting, mulching, pruning and weeding on 25 beautiful acres overlooking the Potomac River. Property once owned by George Washington, River Farm, located approx. 4 miles north of Mt. Vernon on the GW Parkway, is the headquarters for the American Horticultural Society, a national non-profit dedicated to educating and encouraging Americans to become better caretakers of the Earth.
