Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to educating young people about business, economics, and free enterprise. Through a dedicated volunteer network, JA provides in-school and after-school programs for students in grades K-12. JA offers educational programs that focus on seven key areas: business, citizenship, economics, entrepreneurship, ethics/character, financial literacy, and career development. Today over 140 offices reach four million students in the Unites States, with over two million students served by operations in 97 countries worldwide.
Description
Junior Achievement of Northern Nevada is currently seeking volunteers to teach economic and business education programs to area students. If you are a community minded individual that is interested in teaching a class or would like to become more involved in the education of our youth then Junior Achievement is the perfect place for you! Junior Achievement will provide volunteers with all materials and thorough lesson plans. We will also be contacting the teachers to ensure that they are interested in having Junior Achievement programs brought to their class. Volunteers can expect to make a commitment of a maximum of 10 hours. This includes drive time to and from the school and any prep time for lessons. Most programs consist of five separate lessons and last 30-45 minutes.
