The Grant Writing Volunteer will conduct in-depth research into grant applications and opportunities, compose and send letters of inquiry to prospective grant-making organizations and foundations, prepare proposals and grant applications that display excellent writing and editing skills. The Grant Writing Volunteer may also participate in community outreach programs such as farm tours and parades.

Requirements:

  1. Love of animals and compassion for others; commitment to mission of Ranch
  2. Strong written and verbal communication skills and telephone etiquette
  3. Excellent computer skills including Word and Excel
  4. Solid background in research
  5. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  7. Organized, dependable, and punctual
  8. Strong time management skills

The Gress Mountain Ranch embodies the healthy interdependence of humans and animals, and models this environment for the larger community. Abused and neglected animals are given life-long care to recover and thrive. Based on their emotional, cognitive, and social needs, humans are guided in their interaction with the animals, and when they leave the Ranch, take with them experiences that increase self-worth, healthy interdependence, and emotional well-being.

Description

The Gress Mountain Ranch is a non-profit animal sanctuary for large, small, and exotic animals and is dedicated to educating and helping both people and animals who have been victims of abuse, neglect, and the unwanted aftereffects.

The ranch located in Orefield, Pennsylvania on a beautiful 15 acre hilly tract situated on the 2nd highest point in the Lehigh Valley. It is certified by National Wildlife Federation as a "wildlife habitat" and is currently a forever home to over 40 animals.
