Junior Achievement of New Mexico (JA OF NM) seeks volunteers to make a difference in the future of local K-12 students by teaching them economic success skills! JA of NM is the nonprofit leader in providing innovative financial literacy, work-readiness, and entrepreneurship education. We need volunteers to teach during the fall of 2019, beginning in August or September. You don't need teaching experience, as all scripts and learning materials are created for non-teachers. You just need a passion to inspire and prepare students for economic success, while sharing your personal and professional experiences. The program is highly interactive...so no long lectures to give, but lots of fun and interaction with the students. The total time commitment of a volunteer is about 8 - 10 hours total, spread out over 5 to 8 weeks, depending on the grade level you teach. You get real experience in a classroom and there is the opportunity to work on developing your soft skills with the students. A great add to your resume! To join us, contact Mark Schmit at programs@newmexicoja.org or at 505-342-6349.
