Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.
SNIP Alliance provides low cost spay-neuter services for low-income pet-owners in Madison County, Illinois. By utilizing our mobile clinic, we bring spay-neuter services to the areas most in need of these services. Volunteers are always needed to work 4 hour shifts in the clinic, mostly Saturdays and Sundays. Volunteers must be 18. Training is provided via clinic manual and on-site. Positions range from strenuous (carrying crates and/or animals) to sedentary (working in pre-op or post-op area watching the animals or doing paperwork). The payback is tremendous in this program! You receive heartfelt thanks from pet owners who could not otherwise afford this service and the knowledge that you are preventing unwanted litters that could end up directly in animal control facilities or abandoned.
