Do you enjoy social media? Are you a Facebook junkie?

The Oregon Convention Center is looking for a Social Media Intern/Volunteer who can assist us in keeping up our Volunteer Facebook page, showing the volunteers participating in activities at the Convention Center.

It is the mission of the VOLUNTEER SERVICES PROGRAM of the Oregon Convention Center to improve customer service in the facility, representing the city of Portland, the state of Oregon, and the greater Northwest area by:

1. Providing greeter services and assisting in identifying desired locations and services;

2. Increasing public awareness and understanding of the facility and the community by conducting tours and staffing information booths;

3. Generating goodwill throughout the community for the OCC by serving as unofficial "ambassadors" for the OCC.

It is the goal of the VOLUNTEER SERVICES PROGRAM to assist visitors in making their experience at OCC a pleasant, informational, and educational one. We not only want our guests to have a great experience at OCC but we want their visit to Portland to be fun and memorable. Our Social Media volunteer will help to promote the volunteer program and help them engage in this way. The volunteer will gain communication skills, computer skills, and writing & photography skills.

The Oregon Convention Center hosts local, regional, and national events. Our volunteers greet visitors, give directions, offer dining tips and suggest & help plan places to visit and how to get there.

Opportunity Requirements:

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older to participate in this opportunity.
