Volunteer needed at Non-profit Focused on Empowering Young Women
Location: Culver City (office) and greater L.A.
Have a passion for media and social justice?
Global Girl Media seeks a Social Media/General Office Volunteer for our Los Angeles Program.
Global Girl Media is a non-profit dedicated to empowering young women from under-served communities globally through media, leadership and new media journalistic training.
The LA program works with young women from various East/Downtown L.A. High Schools. Reporting in Spanish and English, the girls participate in an important cultural exchange, building an educational and professional media network, while acquiring valuable life and marketable skills, helping to create a sustainable Los Angeles for themselves and their community.
Volunteers will work directly with media professionals to create social media marketing materials and update websites. Video Production and editing experience in Final Cut Pro is an asset. This is a great opportunity for students majoring in Media, Sociology, Global and Women/Feminist Studies and/or people interested in the inner workings of and management of non-profits.
