Homeless Gear distributes supplies to 50+ facilities/agencies that serve people who are homeless or near-homeless throughout Colorado. These agencies redistribute the supplies to the people they serve.
We are in need of volunteers to help transport supplies to and from facilities in Colorado. We often times pick up large loads of donations (for example we get donations from various outdoor gear stores) and drop off supplies to other agencies.
This happens on an ongoing, as-needed basis: we simply meet with the volunteer, keep his/her information on hand, and contact that person when we're in need of a pick-up. If you can help, great, if not, great!
There are opportunities for driving locally in Fort Collins and in various parts of the state (Denver, Westminster, Loveland, Boulder and more).
Having a larger vehicle, truck, and/or hitch is ideal.

Homeward Alliance (formally Homeless Gear) is a Fort Collins-based nonprofit that provides a continuum of services to individuals and families who are homeless or - in some cases - at risk of becoming homeless: supplies that help them survive in the short-term, connections to resources in the interim and links to employment, housing and self-sufficiency in the long-term.
