Friends of the Library Bookstore

Opportunity: The Friends of the Orange Public Library is a non-profit organization that raises money for the Orange Public Library. Volunteers are needed for its Bookstore and Internet Sales.


Bookstore volunteers are friendly, enjoy working with the public, handles money, sorts donated books and stocks shelves. Customer service experience and the ability to work with well with others in a small group are a plus.

Internet Sales volunteers should be familiar with good book selection, familiar with the Internet, handle packaging and mailing books to buyers.

Current Openings: Volunteers are needed during the hours of the Bookstore.
Monday - Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Shifts Monday - Friday are 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. , 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Shifts on Saturday and Sunday are 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Requirements: All volunteers 16 and older are required to be drug screen and fingerprinted before they can volunteer with the Friends of the Library. This process is paid for by the City of Orange. Members must pay a minimum $10 membership fee per year.
