Chaparral House, a small, non-profit skilled nursing home located near BART and bus lines in central Berkeley is looking for massage volunteers to do simple massage for some of our elders.
Wheelchair massage; hands, feet, shoulder rubs, lower leg rubs etc.
You should have some training in massage and an interest in working with a frail, elder population. If you are currently in a massage / bodywork study program you can benefit additionally by using residents for your case studies. or for required exterhship hours (ie National Holistic Institute).
If you are part of a school program (ie NHI) you should be covered under their liability insurance---but if you are an individual practioner--you need to be able to show us proof of liability insurance.
