Friday Night Lunch Packer

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Food For Thought Toledo

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 12 people are interested

Volunteers are needed every Friday night 6pm - 7:30pm to help pack brown bag lunches for our Saturday morning picnics with the unhoused.

There is no age requirement, as children can work side by side with their parents and decorate brown paper lunch bags with crayons and markers provided by Food For Thought. We ask our volunteers to bring the items needed to pack the lunches (http://feedtoledo.org/#/free-lunches/friday-nights).

We run almost exclusively on volunteers, so no group is too large or small. Please let us know if you are going to bring a large group so we can prepare some additional projects for you! This event takes place at New Harvest Church, located at 3540 Seaman Rd, Oregon, OH 43616. Please arrive about 10 minutes early, as we start promptly at 6:00.

If you're interested in volunteering, please email volunteer@feedtoledo.org with your name, contact information and when you would like to volunteer.

About Food For Thought Toledo

Mission Statement

We strive to create a community where the hunger for food, respect, and belonging are met for all people.

Description

We are a local nonprofit organization that seeks to be a bridge between poverty and prosperity. We operate a food pantry and distribute sack lunches to Toledo's homeless. We strive to build relationships that aid in reconciliation and redemption.

We are an organization of people who care about others and want to help those in need. We believe serving can change both those who are served and those who are serving. And we believe anyone can serve. In fact, we often see generous, selfless behavior from our friends on the street helping each other. It's getting to see that compassion, seeing people opening up and sharing their stories, seeing them realize they still matter in the world, and seeing them start to take steps to change their lives... all this has changed us, too, and we love it.
