Are you 55 or older and eager to educate your community? Join AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP of Metro Atlanta, a volunteer program that mobilizers seasoned adults to serve as peer educators and advocates.
As an RSVP volunteer in this role, you will serve as an educational ambassador, conducting educational presentations and events in the community to help persons better understand the risk factors, symptoms and signs of Diabetes; why screening is important; the importance of working with health care providers; the benefits Medicare offers related to diabetes; health tips and techniques; and resources available in the community to prevent and manage diabetes.
A minimum of 4 hours a month is preferred. Days and hours are flexible during regular business hours to fit volunteer's schedule. Occasional weekend opportunities.
Location: Throughout the 10 county Atlanta Region
To keep communities safe, all duties will be performed virtually until further notice.
