Volunteer Position in Medical
Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abuse (TROSA) is searching for volunteer medical personnel to help support the medical clinic on our campus at 1820 James Street in Durham that provides services for the participating residents. This clinic provides episodic and chronic health care under the supervision of a Nurse Practitioner and volunteer medical providers. The tasks assigned would reflect the licensure of the applicant. Tasks may include vital signs, general limited wound care, assisting with procedures, fitting durable medical equipment, and creating educational handouts or training modules. Venipunctures, injections, and triaging may be requested of the appropriately licensed individual. Advanced practice individuals would serve to augment client office visit capacity.
Applicants should be licensed, reliable, confidential, and able to provide satisfactory references and past work history. Volunteers may agree to work any available hours between 9:00am and 2:00pm, Monday through Thursday. TROSA provides liability insurance for licensed nurses volunteering in the medical clinic.

TROSA is a comprehensive, long-term, residential substance abuse recovery program located in Durham, North Carolina. Founded in 1994, TROSA is now the largest state licensed residential therapeutic community in North Carolina and is widely respected for its innovative therapeutic and entrepreneurial approach to the pervasive issue of substance abuse.
