Boys Hope Girls Hope of Southern California is an academic scholarship program that runs two boarding homes that provide full care for underprivileged youth - including food preparation! If you like to cook, provide a meal or assist in cooking for approximately 7-8 people, we would love to have your services as a dinner parent! We would ask meals to be nutritious and include at least one vegetable. Meals can be picked up by staff, dropped off at the house, provided frozen, etc. and will be used to feed the children in our program and, if possible, their families.

Mission Statement

Boys Hope Girls Hope nurtures and guides motivated young people in need to become well-educated, career-ready men and women for others.

Description

Boys Hope Girls Hope ( www.bhghsocal.org ) helps children who are academically capable and show great promise--to achieve their full potential by providing them each with a value-centered, family-like home, a quality education through college and a host of ancillary services and opportunities. The success of Boys Hope Girls Hope is based upon one simple truth: children who have a stable, happy and permanent home life are much more likely to succeed in school and adulthood.

Founded in 1975, Boys Hope Girls Hope is a privately funded, non-profit organization that works to make a profound impact in the lives our determined young people. Our approach is unique and holistic providing children who have demonstrated academic potential with four critical ingredients for success: Homes, Opportunities, Parental role models, and Education. We opened our first home in Southern California for boys in 1991. Our second home, Girls Hope, followed in 1996.
