We are a non-profit organization that is need of many hands to help pack educational supplies for 100,000 Louisiana students! Each year, teachers across the state of Louisiana register with our program to receive free wetland lessons to use in their classrooms, as well as a box of supplies (i.e. markers, sponges, scissors, graduated cylinders, etc.) to complete the activities in the lessons. All of those materials are shipped to LSU where we set up an assembly line and pack boxes before sending them to the registered educators. As you can imagine, this task would be difficult without the help of others.
We will be assembling and stuffing boxes on Tuesday, January 24th, through Friday, February 10th from 10am - 3pm. We are located at the 4-H Mini Farm (next to Parker Coliseum on LSU's Campus). Come for an hour or stay the entire time! Refreshments will be provided. To register, please contact Ashley Mullens at awmullens@agcenter.lsu.edu.

Mission Statement
The Youth Wetlands Education and Outreach Program is a statewide LSU AgCenter 4-H program sponsored by the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources. The program is designed to heighten students’ awareness of Louisiana’s wetland loss through an organized educational program of outreach, empowerment and advocacy.
Description
Program materials - including structured lesson plans, materials used to teach lessons and step-by-step procedures to activities - are provided at no cost to participating educators. These lessons are implemented throughout the academic year with the program culminating during an intensive week dedicated to wetland learning known as Youth Wetlands Week (YWW). The program curriculum is endorsed by the Louisiana Science Teachers Association, and lessons are designed to follow Louisiana’s Grade Level Expectations (GLEs). Pre- and post-tests are completed by participating students, and the results reflect increased knowledge of main science concepts.
