During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of both COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Our volunteers bring vitality to our animals and extra help to our staff at Open Door. With our volunteer program, each animal is able to receive the love and attention they need on a daily basis. Our volunteers allow us to expand our shelter's reach into the community and help us to influence the public by the example we set. Our volunteers energize our staff with their generous donation of time and serve as daily reminders to how one person can change the lives of many, including our precious, four-legged friends.
All volunteers must be 16 years old to volunteer; 13-15 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.

ODAS is a no-kill shelter dedicated to preserving the life and health of homeless cats and dogs, providing shelter, food and veterinary care while fostering their social skills and encouraging their adoption into loving homes.
Open Door Animal Sanctuary has a large selection of mature dogs and cats and, depending upon the season, puppies and kittens are also available. We have animals of all descriptions some are purebred but most are of mixed parentage. All of these animals need someone with whom to share their lives.
To adopt an animal from Open Door Animal Sanctuary you must provide the utmost care for our angels. We believe the perfect home is one that provides a lifetime commitment, adequate shelter, good food & fresh water, regular veterinary care and 100 kisses a day.
We screen our potential adopters to make sure they will provide the care that we feel is important to our animals. If we do not feel your home is the right fit for one of our animals we will give you other options. Being a no-kill shelter, we know our animals and know the type of homes they will be best suited for.
Our adoption fee is $1 20.00 . This fee includes all necessary shots up to the date of adoption (at least 2 sets) spaying or neutering, microchipping and heartworm testing. Heartworm preventative is also given. Our cats are tested for feline leukemia and FIV (Feline Aids). All animals are wormed and given flea and tick preventative. And our animals are socialized.
We'll work with your schedule.
