Number of volunteers needed: No limit, always looking for help.
Shift Days/Times: Any time between Monday thru Friday from 9AM-4:00P
Guidelines: May include walking to and from different areas on campus. May include working with wheelchairs (training provided). Must be comfortable talking to others and being patient with those who have trouble thinking.
Description of Opportunity:
- Transporting residents from different areas across campus, including wheelchairs.
- Readings, trivia, or newspaper discussions with small group of 3 to 4 residents
- Bingo: caller, help resident with locating the number called
- Sitting outdoors in the sensory garden with resident.
- Volunteers for one on one room visits which includes but not limited to playing cards, doing puzzles, reading paper, or just open discussion on occupations etc.
What can one gain from this opportunity: One can gain the sense of being a companion to someone in need of a friend. We are an active senior living community offering, a full continuum of care, with many different residential living options including:
1) Independent Living, residential living with services and amenities included or available
2) Assisted Living, residential living with supportive services for daily activities of living included
3) Skilled Nursing, short and long-term nursing care, rehabilitation, and respite services
4) Dementia Support, Alzheimer's Disease, dementia care, and palliative care and services
