Art and Music bring great joy and a calming peace to the lives of patients living with life limiting illnesses. As an art and/or music volunteer you can paint, draw, color, sing and/or play an instrument for a group of patients or at an individual patients' bedside. Kindred Hospice cares for patients throughout Western and Central Ohio so you can volunteer your time close to your home. We provide our care in private homes, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities, wherever the patient resides. Please call Summer at 937-433-2400 M-F 8a-5p.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide quality care for patients faced with a life limiting illness. The goal is to improve the quality of a person's life through pain and symptom control, emotional and spiritual support. We believe the patient and family are an integral decision making member of the Kindred Hospice Team in planning care. Hospice offers an alternative to repeat hospitalizations. Hospice affirms life. It neither hastens nor postpones death but assists the patient and family in living with a life limiting illness. Kindred Hospice regards dying as a normal process at life's end. We can provide dignity and comfort for the patient and loved ones.

Description

Kindred Hospice provides the highest quality of care. We treat everyone with respect and dignity. We acknowledge and embrace religious, ethnic and cultural diversity. Kindred Hospice offers a team approach to deal with the physical, emotional, spiritual and social impact of the disease on the patient, family and friends.

An individualized plan of care is developed and updated every visit to meet the needs of each patient and family. The team includes the patient, family, doctor, nurse, nurses aides, medical social worker, clergy and volunteers. We are available 24/7. We also offer bereavement counseling to the family for up to one year following the death of their loved one.
