Refugee Transitions (RT) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting refugee and immigrant families in becoming self-sufficient in the United States. We provide home-based services to help these families attain the English language, life, job and academic skills they need to succeed in their new communities. We currently offer our services in San Francisco, the East Bay, and the South Bay.

Refugee Transitions partners with San Francisco International High School (SFIHS) to offer structured after-school tutoring support to help students with homework, language acquisition, academic skill-building and social adjustment. All students are English Language Learners who have immigrated to the U.S. in the past four years. Most are low-income. Students speak over 20 languages and hail from over 40 countries.
