Caring volunteers are needed to visit terminally ill patients to brighten their day and provide temporary relief for their families when needed. Our patients are visited where they live - home, nursing home, assisted living. Free training is provided to volunteers with a compassionate heart and a desire give back to others. Training can be scheduled at your convenience.
Contact Sara Atkinson, Volunteer Coordinator 417-881-9111. Your life, as well as the patients, will be enriched. We have patients that are waiting for someone like you to visit them today!
Remember your skills, even the most basic (use a computer, bake a cake or even willing to deliver a cake) talents are just waiting to be shared when you're ready.
We look forward to hearing from you!

Description
COMPASSIONATE ABOUT CARE. passionate about life.
At Good Shepherd Hospice, we believe that health is more that just a diagnosis and a treatment. It's a daily exercise in making this moment...this today...the very best it can be. We're here to help our patients achieve this goal - physically, mentally, spiritually...and for whatever that means individually.
We believe that in the passing of a person's life, there are also extraordinary opportunities for compassion, reconciliation, spiritual healing and renewal.
Our volunteers play a vital role in our Hospice program. From working in the office, to creating special projects at home, to visiting to provide companionship and ease loneliness, Good Shepherd Hospice Volunteers make special moments happen again and again for the patients and families we serve.
Our History - 23 Years of Comforting and Serving
Good Shepherd Hospice opened its first office in Oklahoma City in 1995. We now have a regional presence serving Oklahoma, Kansas. Missouri and Texas. Along the way, we've touched the lives of more than 20,000 patients and shepherded 50,000+ family members through their time of need. Every member of our hospice team receives comprehensive, ongoing training. We are a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Association, Medicare Certified and State Licensed.
