Team Adelaide Position Profile

Team Adelaide is a great way to get involved with Girls on the Run-DC if you want to work with a team of girls, but cannot make the full Coaching commitment. You get to experience the program first hand, feel a sense of accomplishment that you have made a difference in the lives of girls and have a ton of fun with your team of Coaches and incredible girls.

Job Summary/Responsibilities:

Team Adelaide is a group of trained volunteers who will conduct 2 visits to one team during the season. The first visit will be in the first 2-4 weeks of the season so the volunteer can meet the team, the Coaches and the girls. During that visit, coaches may pass along questions that they have, as well as elevate any concerns.

The second visit by the Team Adelaide member will be scheduled between weeks 6-9 of the season. During that visit, Adelaide volunteers will complete a short, informal site evaluation checklist. The site visits will help GOTR-DC ensure uniformity of program delivery and quality and allow us to offer feedback to Coaches and teams.

This position entails approximately 2 hours per month. Team Adelaide members are required to attend a 90 minute in-person training and are encouraged to participate in the end of season 5K. A Team Adelaide member serves as a role model and mentor; provides support to GOTR-DC Coaches, in the form of being an extra set of hands or answering any questions; and understands and believes in the mission of the organization.

This volunteer position may be used as a service learning project, internship, or other college credit project upon agreement of the college/university and Director.
