Happy Campers

At Great and Small, we believe that horses make us better people -- physically, emotionally, and relationally. We serve participants with a variety of special needs, and without the support of volunteers these participants would not be able to engage in the equine experience.

Camp Volunteers directly assist with therapeutic riding lessons by leading the horse or sidewalking with the rider. Volunteers also groom and tack the horse before the lesson and untack after the lesson. Horse experience is helpful but not required. All necessary training will be provided by Great and Small.

Camp Volunteers commit to a full week (or two weeks) of camp. This is a time commitment of about three hours per day for five days. (15 hours/week)

Great and Small is an MCPS-approved SSL site.
