Habitat for Humanity for SLO County is looking for volunteers to work in our San Luis Obispo ReStore!

Habitat for Humanity ReStores are volunteer-run building materials and home improvement thrift stores, selling new and used items. Proceeds from the ReStore are used to fund the building of Habitat for Humanity homes and other projects in our community that help low-income homeowners. The ReStores are a critical part of Habitat and couldn't run without hundreds of volunteer hours.

Volunteers in the ReStore can fill flexible shifts with varying responsibilities. Typical volunteer shifts are from 9am-1pm and 1pm-5pm, but these can be adjusted to fit each volunteer's schedule. The Restore is open Monday through Saturday from 9am-5pm. Ideal volunteers can work a regular 4 hour shift, usually weekly or monthly. Volunteers help by cashiering, helping customers, pricing, organizing displays, donation intake/cleaning, and moving materials/furniture. No prior experience needed! All volunteers receive a habitat T-Shirt. The ReStore South is located at 187 Tank Farm Road, Suite 130.

A few hours volunteering at our ReStore will help Habitat make a big impact in the community!

Mission Statement

Habitat for Humanity for San Luis Obispo County strives to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

Description

HFHSLOCO was established in 1997 and is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. San Luis Obispo County is one of the least affordable small metropolitan areas in the nation according to the National Association of Home Builders. The County is in a severe affordable housing crisis as low income workers have extreme difficulty finding affordable homes to live in. To address this housing need, HFHSLOCO uses volunteer labor and tax-deductible donations of money, materials, and services to build homes that are affordable to very-low and low-income families, maintaining the existing affordable housing stock, and revitalize communities through its Neighborhood Revitalization efforts.
