About

The WTA provides trainig programs and free computers for homeless shelter residents and extremely low income adults in Washington DC from a large classroom, office space and work areas at the Community for Creative Non-Violence (CCNV), the largest homeless shelter in America. Students also gain work-based learning experience through small income producing enterprises including computer sales, tailoring, beadmaking and music production. We are even expanding our reach to Africa, where shelter residents refurbish USA technology then export it to impoverished schools in Tanzania, and import African Jewelry and sell it on the streets of Washington DC under the Wild-Tech CCNV brand.

There are many foundations, corporations, and government agencies that are interested in engaging with programs like ours. We can even provide direct employee engagement programs for corporations and universities including overnight accomodations at the shetler, special events targeting potential supporters, and more. Yet, we do not have enough volunteers to build relationships, create the events and manage the logistics. Many of our programs are extemely cutting edge and could generate lots of interest, support and direct engagement, but we don't have the events people to drive this agenda foreward.

Thus, we are in tremendous need of event coordinators to:

1. Create employee engagement events with local corporations

2. Create special events targetting potential supporters

3. We are open to your ideas for other events.

You will get plenty of real hands-on event management experience and visibility amongst corporations, non-profits and government agencies -- in the most compelling service location in America. Best of all, most of the work can be performed remotely from your home or office, but you are always welcome to work at our offices in the shelter
