About

Background: Nonviolent Peaceforce is a nonpartisan unarmed peacekeeping force composed of trained civilians from around the world. In partnership with local groups, NP peacekeepers apply proven nonviolent strategies to prevent death and destruction, protect human rights, and help create space for local peacemakers to carry out their work. Current field sites include: Sri Lanka, Philippines, and Sudan.

Job Summary: Assist Nonviolent Peaceforce to build meaningful relationships with current and prospective major donors by conducting online prospect research in preparation for meetings between NP leaders and donors. Position includes online research and data entry. Training provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research about individuals using the internet and a prospect research database
  • Identify specific information requested
  • Enter information in Nonviolent Peaceforce database
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Confidentiality and discretion required
  • Experience and ability in internet web searches
  • Good writing skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions well, able to work autonomously
  • Ability to focus while in close proximity to others
  • Commitment to work cooperatively and grow personally
  • Commitment to the mission of Nonviolent Peaceforce

Helpful Qualities:

  • Enjoy detective work and mystery: patience, persistence, ambiguity and a sense of humor
  • Fluency in word abbreviations, US geography and common nicknames
  • Fund raising experience
  • Able to learn from successes and mistakes
