Overview: Site authors share travel experiences by establishing a virtual presence for HI New York on a specific social networking webpage, with HI content and creative addition of travel news, photos, maps, and links
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a 'page' at a social networking website & provide access information and technical assistance to users
- Add travel-relevant links, widgets & options to create a robust environment for interaction
- Promote page within the website
Initial Impact:
- Help HI-New York foster relationships with other organizations in the travel and tourism industry
- Provide opportunities for travelers to network
Sustainable Outcome:
- Constant web presence & foundation for future expansion of sites
- More travelers connected with each other and with HI-USA
Training and Support:
- HI-USA Volunteer Manual
- Weekly check-ins over course of project
Time Commitment:
- Estimated 10 hours over one month
- 2 hours in reading volunteer manual and communicating about project
- This is a virtual opportunity that can be performed from anywhere

Who We Are
We bring travelers together in the largest hostel network in the USA, but that’s just the start: from local tours and experiences, to experiential learning programs, HI USA strives to bring moments of cultural understanding to our guests and community members. HI USA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, member-based organization that reinvests our surpluses back into our hostels and programs so they can have an even greater impact, year after year.
