Golden Gate Park, Buffalo (Bison) Paddock, San Francisco

Restore White-crowned Sparrow and other coast scrub species habitat with San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department and Golden Gate Bird Alliance.

Third Saturday of each month from 9am-noon meets near the Buffalo (animals are actually American Bison) Paddock

Directions: Buffalo Paddock is in Golden Gate Park on JFK Drive (east) near Chain of Lakes Dr.

Groups are welcome but please contact Golden Gate Audubon, Manager of Volunteer Services, in advance for Group Sign up Form. If group less than 5, please contact us and let us know so we can plan for gloves, tools, plants etc.

Founded in 1917, Golden Gate Bird Alliance is one of the oldest wildlife conservation organizations on the West Coast. We have a long history of inspiring and connecting people in the Bay Area with local birds, wildlife and their habitats and today play a critical role in Bay Area wildlife conservation. Golden Gate Bird Alliance has roughly 7,000 members and supporters in San Francisco, Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
