Good Shepherd Hospice is looking for dedicated, compassionate individuals who are wanting to build meaningful relationships with their patients. Possible opportunities include:
- Patient care: make visits to provide companionship, enjoyable activities and support to patients and families
- Office support: Some volunteers are more comfortable providing office help.
- Special projects: From sewing to craft projects, becoming a pen pal or helping celebrate birthdays and holidays, these volunteers are ready to assist with special tasks and short-term projects.
- Family support: Our phone team makes periodic calls to families to remind them that we remain available to lend support.
- Community support: Educating the community about the benefits of hospice services is one of our major goals. Join our staff in participating in our speakers bureau, and help with presentations at churches, schools and community organizations.
Again, these are only a few volunteer opportunities at Good Shepherd Hospice. Whether it be working on a memory book, reading the newspaper, or simply holding a hand, you can make a different in a person's life. Please contact Debby Hays for more information.

Description
COMPASSIONATE ABOUT CARE. passionate about life.
At Good Shepherd Hospice, we believe that health care is more than just a diagnosis and a treatment. It's a daily exercise in making this moment...this today...the very best it can be. We're here to help our patients achieve that goal - physically, mentally, spiritually...and for whatever that means individually.
We believe that in the passing of a person’s life, there are also extraordinary opportunities for compassion, reconciliation, spiritual healing, and renewal.
Our Volunteers play a vital role in our Hospice program. From working in the office, to creating special projects at home, to visiting to provide companionship and ease lonliness, Good Shepherd Hospice Volunteers make special moments happen again and again for the patients and families we serve.
